All Peaks - Marathon Version | 1:40:00 | No | The All Peaks category involves ascending every peak in the game - 36 in all. Because some areas of the game are mutually exclusive, this means doing two game runs. My "Marathon Version" of the run demonstrates two endings of the game that don't spoil the "best" ending, which can be reserved for a bonus run. The run manages in-game and real time concerns, using damage warps to displace the player character and advance in-game time as needed. It occasionally features rhythm sections where we intentionally want to avoid doing well in order to take damage. Long musical segments or big mountains make good times for reading donations/expositing on things. The game has built-in backup saves that can potentially allow for some safety if routing goes bad (eg slipping down the wrong one-way slope or damage warping into the wrong spot) |

2v2 Lockout Bingo | 1:00:00 | Yes | There was a farmer, had a dog, and BINGO was his name-o! One of the best things about Stardew Valley is the vast array of options for speedrunning. So, what if we put all of those into a massive list, shuffle them around, and then let the game knowledge shine? Our players will be competing to complete 13/25 tasks provided on a custom bingo board compiled by the community! But be warned: it's lockout, so if the other team accomplishes a goal, then it's off the table for the other team. And the stakes are high as two teams of besties, both appearing together for Stardew runs on the FF stage before, compete against each other for the first time! Items from all four games are shuffled into a common item pool and distributed throughout, so a chest in Kingdom Hearts may have a badge for Pokemon, or a level in Sonic Adventure 2 might hold a sword upgrade for Tunic. Features a lot of on-the-fly routing decisions, out of logic tricks, and just in general playing the game in a very unique way. This is a shorter category I made up so the game can be shown off with a shorter run that isn't 6 hours long. Evie gets less missions in the game than Jacob does and was marketed as the stealth focused character while Jacob was marketed as the combat focused character. I'm personally more of a fan of stealth gameplay and prefer Evie as a character and with her having less mission it makes the perfect short run to showcase part of what this game is like. This is the 100% version of the run where I take the extra time to do the additional full sync objectives for each mission. Most missions I end up doing basically the same as Any% but there are some missions where there are some differences due to how I approach them with my playstyle even if I do the same basic strat or if I have to do entirely new strats. |

Any% NDA | 3:40:00 | No | With this category, death abuse isn't allowed and all levels must be played in their entirety. This allows for some RNG elements to take place as seen in the ice skating levels, see 58:31. All levels get to be showcased in full allowing for a better understanding of the game's lore and story. The most challenging skip execution can be seen at 1:52:42. In the Spotlion boss fight, planned out tech can be seen starting at 2:12:43. My favorite segment in the game is the Light Fang boss since you have to be fast and super accurate throughout, see 1:09:07. In the first baker level, the completion of the cakes doesn't have to be 100% accurate in order to mark you as correct, so we can finish that segment early, see 28:28. This run is what got me back in to speedrunning and I have been loving every millisecond of playing, planning, and working together with the community. I am so happy that we finally have a game that portrays Peach as the super cool, tough, protagonist that she is. |
Basement% NDA | 1:00:00 | No | Basement% is currently not an official category, but is an abridged category I came up with myself. This category shows off the visuals and technique in the all 10 basement levels and final boss battle without using death abuse. For someone who wanted to get a taste of what this game has to offer, this would be the best category to showcase since all 10 character themes are seen, as well as the special ability in the final boss fight. I think it's important to showcase this game to all Nintendo fans since Peach is finally getting the spotlight after so many years without a game starring herself. An explanation of a cycle skip can be seen at 7:54, a tech and backup route can be seen at 29:16, grappling tech can be seen at 49:58 and 50:42, and an example of utilizing damage boosting can be seen at 51:21. The final boss fight begins at 54:37. |

Any% (Kichik) | 1:00:00 | No | Any% with Kichik sees us leveling up quickly in the early game while preparing to rush through all of the required story events as soon as we get our starter’s final Metamorph. Despite the fact that we only use the two beasties we’re given at the very start of the game, the route is deceptively complex. We’ll need to manage their relationship carefully through the early game to make sure we get one of the desired combo moves, and late in the game there are several matches which require some pretty intricate strategy to win quickly. The climax of the run is the Crown Series, featuring a couple of the hardest matches in the run - though it might not look that way from how much damage we’ll be doing at times! Beastieball released in early access on November 12, so the speedrun is very new as of this submission and the route is being actively worked on by the community. |

The randomizer mod also allows for custom warp goal strengths, so whenever a warp goal shows up in the run, it could warp the player ahead up to 10 stages, or it could send the player backwards. All B-Sides, Minimum Grabs | 00:46:00 | No | Playing Celeste while minimizing the number of walls grabbed has been a passion project of mine since 2018, and the B-Sides are easily the most impressive part of this challenge run. On some screens, restricting grabbing doesn't change much, and you'll get to watch me blow through the very difficult B-side screens using a variety of high-speed movement options. On many, however, grabbing walls fundamentally changes how the room is played. Nothing is off the table when it comes to avoiding grabbing walls. Jumping off lava? Sure! Complex setups for jumps precise to a fraction of a pixel? Absolutely. Chaining a dozen pixel perfect spikejumps together? Why not? Waiting around for 5 days to break the game's collision? A worthy investment of time. (I'm using mods for that one don't worry lol) Overall, speedrunning B-sides minimum grabs is an exercise in doing some of the most absurd nonsense that is possible in Celeste -- and then somehow finding a way to make that nonsense viable. |

Any% Good Ending | 07:10:00 | No | We achieve the good ending in this category - the game has an extremely unique battle system that rewards technical knowledge, all the while having to work with stats of all kinds due to how they are generated. Many of the strategies in this run are very finely tuned and workable with almost any set of stats. Even in a 7 hour RPG turn based run, there is still a lot of mechanical and execution based knowledge to be marveled at all throughout this long run. RNG plays heavily into obtaining essential resources that allows us to travel down the doctrine path and eventually unlock the ability to wed one of our fellow cult members. |

Hard All Collectibles | 1:15:00 | No | All Collectibles is a middle of the road category that involves completing all secret missions, as well as collecting all the extra weapons and health upgrades that we'd normally pass over in any% while also ignoring some of the over the top requirements that we have for 100% runs. It's my favorite marathon category because it gets to show off much more of the game than any%. Hard Mode in particular is not an actual category on the leaderboards yet, but I've been routing it anyway and it has several unique routing choices that I'd be really excited to get to show off. I originally wanted to submit normal with a hard mode incentive but I couldn't get the times of the 2 categories to be close enough. |

Any% NoCC | 3:35:00 | Yes | I recruited and organized this race because I felt like an all girl character game needed to be represented at a Fatales event ;) This is really the main category. It's called NoCC, short for No Creature Creator, which just means we are going to run with the main characters and not take advantage of the auto-battling fiends from the Creature creator. My PB is 3:26 RTA but based on my average time and potential RNG and other people's race times, I think we are agreeing on 3:35:00 as a good estimate time. I commentated this submission run and I've highlighted some interests throughout the run in the youtube description so please take a look. Disclaimers: If I'm swearing in the vid that is not representative of my reactions / behavior during marathons. Also, on this run in particular, I ran into 3 crashes. I spent a few days troubleshooting crashes afterward and think I've hopefully fixed some of them but the game in general has been known to crash. (thank you autosave) |

Any% (Unpatched) | 3:15:00 | No | The Fable II Any% (Unpatched) route, despite being exclusive to the Xbox 360 and having some noticeable load times, is technically the fastest way to beat the game - the best kind of fastest way to beat the game - simply due to one massive experience bug that allows you to effectively max out everything almost immediately after the first boss fight, which itself allows for optimizations that current patch routes take a lot more time to build up to, or simply don't have the resources to incorporate as a result. The run also features driving-a-really-fast-moving-bus-on-ice handling of the player character, careful NPC manipulation to skip voicelines or otherwise optimize unskippable ones, and even utilizing the magic of having two controllers connected to the console to most effectively optimize encounters with hordes of zombies and bandits, mighty trolls, and more. This was my first (and only) completed run of this category, which I learned specifically to submit to this marathon -- as such it's pretty well indicative of what a terrible, no-reset marathon run might look like. I promise I'll get better at it by March if we're selected. For fun, here's a run that is much better, but died on the final boss (which has a not-insignificant chance of happening in the marathon: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2310358563 -- there is little or not commentary in either VOD but if we are accepted for the race i will probably barely talk, so really the best thing to do is probably watch it with the volume off I'm the personality hire for this race, thanks for the consideration |

Time Twister - All Scenarios - FF% | 00:20:00 | No | Time Twister is one of the expansion packs for RollerCoaster Tycoon 2; the run sees us using optimized ride designs to drive guest generation in each park, with the goal of beating each scenario as fast as possible, while avoiding the fuss of making our parks look pretty or realistic. Time Twister requires a diversity of strats to beat each scenario, including building rides, placing pre-built ones, hiring staff, and cheesing the marketing campaigns and a programming oversight that compels guests to pay any amount of money for umbrellas. There's little commentary in my VOD, but if you'd like to hear my commentary for a separate category (that uses similar mechanics) please consult my ESA run from a few years back and ignore my awful beard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xqRAuQ1IOI |

Any% NoCC | 03:35:00 | Yes | A race full of early 2000s pop hits, cute outfits and brutal RNG. Final Fantasy X-2 is a true speedrun gem in the series that often gets overlooked. We'll show off how to make split-second decisions in real-time battles, while also taking advantage of the ATB wait system and other basic mechanics in the game. Some great features of this JRPG to make it short & sweet is the ability to skip cutscenes, a glitch that allows us to skip FMVs, and an accessory that eliminates random encounters. We'll be racing the marathon-friendly PC version which includes auto-saves, but not using the Creature Creator feature, leaving us to only utilize our girl squad Yuna, Rikku & Paine and 4 total dresspheres. This is a really fun run with a low barrier to entry that you need to experience! |

Because of the difficulty, the entire run is too long for a marathon. Act 1 is the first third of the game. The challenges of ultrahard have required us to develop new combat strategies. In the early game, these are focused on melee, rather than ranged, techniques. For speedrunners, it requires us to learn an entirely new way of playing the game, which is a lot of fun to play and watch. |

All Equipment (JP) | 2:10:00 | No | The All Equipment category picks up all upgradable pieces of equipment in the game (all swords, armor, boots, and rings). While this does make the run longer, it does showcase more of the run (including seeing 3 extra dungeons that are normally skipped in Any% No DSS, as well as playing through most of Verla mines), the run is safer (extra armor helps a ton and Healing Boots are a boon) and the bosses go down faster (Thunder Sword is really strong but never picked up in No DSS). Plus, this is the category you'd pick if you want to see the Dog Dungeon. |

New routing has been done and the game has been pushed under 2 hours. Unlike Langrisser 1 which mostly utilized flying units to do a majority of the work, Langrisser 2 utilizes routing in levels for a spellcaster to make the final 3 scenarios much easier (Chapter 19 for example, used to be a 4-5 turn fight, is now a 2-turn fight thanks to new routing). The end result is a much more satisfying run to watch and a more fun game to play. |

Superstar% - Bowser Monsters | 1:00:00 | No | The various Superstar% speedrun categories (of which there are 39 in total) are all about clearing the various Star Missions, and the Bowser Monsters category focuses on clearing ALL of the missions for the four characters on Bowser's starting roster - Bowser himself, Bowser Jr., Dry Bones, and Hammer Bro. It's possible to do this in a single playthrough with only one minigame and six matches of baseball played, but it's surprisingly difficult to do that fast - even for Bowser, who is considered to be among the stronger captains in Challenge Mode. Randomness plays a huge role in, among other things, determining *where the ball goes when you hit it*. All the same, Bowser and his boys will swing for the fences and make themselves into Superstars within an hour - well shorter than a game of real life baseball. |

Any% No QS No WM | 3:20:00 | No | Any% No QS No WM is shorthand for Any% No Quicksave No Wondermail, because this is the no Quicksave no Wondermail category, this run has no RNG manipulation and thus must deal with randomized dungeon layouts. We also don't use Wondermail which can allow us to get some really good items early, though there will be an exception to this for incentive purposes. Because of this category, we instead use Skitty and Cyndaquil in the run rather than the RNG manipulated counterpart that uses Meowth and Squirtle. While the personality quiz is randomized, the file would be prepped with Skitty already picked. |

Eeveelution Showdown | 4:20:00 | Yes | In this submission, I will race GretaIceVixen of GDQ And FF Games Committee Fame in the critically "it's fine I guess" Pokémon Sword and Shield. Both of us will trade in an Eevee from Pokémon Home to do a "Trade Alt Main" (category extension) (you trade in an alt main), but we will evolve into different Eeveelutions (Pokémon) (dex number 133). I will run Sylveon (Pokémon) (fairy type) (decently good in VGC Regulation H). If you are not familiar with Eevee (Pokémon) (fan favorite) I recommend going and looking it up before you watch this video, or else you will lack the necessary context to fully appreciate the classic Eeveelution Showdown experience that so many viewers know and love. Eeveelution Showdown | 04:20:00 | Yes | This will be a Trade Alt Main race against Corvimae, with May on Sword and myself on Shield. A Trade Alt Main is a unique category that, first of all, skips the first 20 mins or so of the run (boring tutorial land), and uses a Pokémon traded in through Pokémon HOME as a replacement for your Starter Pokémon. The catch is, you are ONLY allowed to attack using your traded Pokémon - no outside assistance. This category currently holds over 60 unique Pokémon Trade Alt Mains, but of course we know the Fatales love their Eeveelutions. In our Eeveelution Showdown, May and I will race to beat the game using Sylveon and Vaporeon respectively. These runs both make use of the unique Wild Area and Raid Den mechanics within this game, as well as a neat exploit called Den Manip to do some time traveling! Non-DLC SwSh hasn't been shown at FF in 5 years, and we think it's time to bring it back! The game has gotten faster and faster since then, and this is a very unique way of showing it off! |

Rise of the Empire Any% New Profile | 00:50:00 | No | Rise of the Empire (ROTE) campaign on a fresh profile with no medals present skipping space missions. This category involves a lot of routing out how you plan to build up your medals in the early game to set up for the Empire portion, and making adjustments as you go with various backup plans in case you fall behind. There's a lot more class variety, you get to see most of the classes in the game used in some way and more often instead of only Sniper or Dark Trooper most of the run! The catch is being much more vulnerable to a random Wrist Rocket if you get caught not watching those Wrist Rockets, or the jumpscare Wookies on Polis and Yavin IV, and having to be on top of your execution at all times. Since you don't have bonuses to work with like the Remote Rocket, you have to utilize different strats that do a lot to distinguish the 2 categories. We can still utilize a lot of the schmoovement tech as well, and tricks like turret clipping! Very fun category to marathon and race in! |
Rise of the Empire Any% w/ Bonuses | 00:48:00 | No | Rise of the Empire (ROTE) campaign on a profile with all bonuses maxed out on Legendary Status, skipping all 4 space missions. This category has evolved a lot in the last year with so much new tech and spruced up older tricks. We've got turret clips on Coruscant to steal the 2nd holocron from the Jedi before they even exist. We've got an out of bounds strat for Kamino to fly into the rain filled sky with the DNA, another for Death Star that I do using a turret clip to jump to the rebel scum carrying the plans asap, and more OOB strats like on Mustafar for fun! There's also REALLY fancy schmoovement tech with Jedi and the Dark Trooper that's really fun to show off like mid-air sprint jumps on Mygetto and a roof slide on Naboo as Dark Trooper. We even trick the game by using the Remote Rocket to trigger things in the game earlier than intended, and abuse class swapping to fire rockets faster than Obi can run with his legs on Utapau. Hope to get to show this game off! :3 |

Any% | 00:55:00 | No | Complete all four episodes as fast as possible, taking advantage of little skips and micro-optimizations along the way, with surprisingly tight precision and execution required for a story-based adventure game. I am the current world record holder for this game (although as far as I know, only one or two other people have seriously tried to run it). Routing this game was a very fun and different experience, with lots of little details particular to the game's unique structure, especially the text adventure segments. I don't think this fully comes out yet in the commentary track I recorded for this submission - it's very much a first crack at commentating this run. I would like to iterate on that in the time between now and the marathon to get the tone right and incorporate more of these routing details. Having someone else to bounce off of might help with that. I recorded the commentary for this submission with a headset mic, but have a proper mic I could hook up to improve quality. |

There are a number of cool platforming abilities and glitches as well as routing plans I have to make to figure my way through both of these games. They both have detailed and complex maps as well as difficult areas and dungeons. For TUNIC, I'll be playing unrestricted with glitchless logic, meaning I can do whatever I'd like to, but the randomizer won't expect me to. I also won't start with a stick/sword. This version of the randomizer includes randomizing certain basic abilities the fox typically has from the start. This notably lowers the number of checks in Sphere 0 substantially, in addition to adding 3 more progression items to the game, making for a lot more variation in routing. |

Pokemon Emerald | 2:30:30 | Yes | Randomized Pokemon Emerald includes fully randomized available Pokemon, abilities on Pokemon, enemy Pokemon, items as Archipelago objects, and adds a few quality of life adjustments. This shows a different way of playing a classic and beloved game, and offers interesting moments with early battles, middle game decision making and puzzle-like routing on the fly, and working to make sure I'm grabbing other folks' items. |

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 4 person Multiworld | 3:30:30 | No | We're all from different parts of the world and timezones are a thing, but the submitted times would work for us. Again, we hope that we would be 3 hours ish or under by the time we finish altering settings - we're considering a combined-moon pearl so that when we find 1 the rest of us get it at the same time which would speed things up a bit all on it's own as well. Thank you for any consideration, it would be an honor to do a run of this caliber! Of note I also did a run in October for a smaller but still great cause for The RPG Valkyries speedrun event with a crosskeys which I had an absolute blast with. Thank you! - Lana |

Any% | 00:32:00 | No | Any% is an incredibly technical yet fast-paced run, where protagonist Link goes from waking up in a cave to saving the world in just half an hour. From start to finish, the run is chock-full with a high density of fun and difficult tricks, including out of bounds clips, flashy aero-acrobatics, and impressively detailed combat prowess. We start out in the tutorial area, where we ragdoll Link thru the air repeatedly at high speeds to reach the end, after which we book it straight to the end of the game, procuring a small collection of carefully picked weapons along the way; giving us just enough firepower to take down the intense 6-part boss gauntlet standing in between us and our destined Princess. |

Any% | 00:55:00 | No | Any% is a funny category that skips basically everything the game has to offer and puts you directly in the end of the game area with only very minimal health and powers at your disposal. This is both very fast and quite difficult as the final boss is not meant to be fought this way. |

Beat the Game (Randomizer) | 2:45:00 | No | This is a "default" mode randomizer -- the same settings we use in the weekly asyncs in the Fatales randomizer corner. Weapons, trading quest items, heart pieces, heart containers, secret seashells, and chest rupees have all been scattered throughout Koholint Island. Dungeon keys, maps, compasses, and stone beaks have been shuffled within their original dungeons (i.e. this is not a keys mode). Entrances are vanilla. I use some hard/advanced logic techniques and glitches in my runs, but the spirit of the original gameplay is still very evident. It also follows the No Wrong Warp/Out of Bounds vanilla speedrun rules. |

All Dungeons Low% (15 Items) | 3:30:00 | No | This run completes all of the main dungeons in the game while collecting as few items as possible. Through a series of recent discoveries, the required item count was lowered from 16 to 15 (this number includes all 9 of the spiritual stones and medallions obtained from completing a dungeon) making this a new speedrun category for OoT. The run features many glitches and sequence breaks not normally seen in traditional Ocarina of Time speedruns making it a unique viewing experience even to those who are familiar with the game. Notable items skipped are the hookshot, bombs, hover boots, all bottles, all ocarina songs, the bow, light arrows, magic, deku nuts and sticks, kokiri sword and shield, goron tunic, and more. |

any% | 1:25:00 | No | Skyward Sword any% is a fast-paced gauntlet of menus, memory manipulation, and motion controls. This route is equal parts silly and highly technical with its utilization of title screen shenanigans to skip the majority of intended progression. It also, as of summer 2022, now features an even more unorthodox ending Thanks to Ghirahim 3 escape and the boss rush minigame, Link can now fight Demise in his pajamas with no items and only a toothpick for a sword. It's flashy, it's fun, it's fast :> |

All Helmets | 1:35:00 | No | All Helmets has us obtaining all the collectable helmets, while still finishing the game from a new game file. These helmets can be out of the way, which opens the door to new routing and strats compared to Any%, and also showing off a little more of the game. |
Any% | 1:30:00 | No | The goal of Any% is to beat the game as fast as possible on whatever difficulty. We play on easy, as this allows for more freedom with damage tanking and makes the AI a little less accurate, allowing us to focus on the movement aspect of the run (and go fast). |

100% | 00:17:30 | No | This specific run collects every single item in the game and requires that all items which are represented in the world via chests must be collected. Items like Trash and Candy must be bought. The Blood Sword and Wand must both be acquired and held during the run at some point. This run is the longest of the runs. |
All Items | 00:10:00 | No | This version of the run requires collecting every item in the game (all visible on the side bar) and does not require collecting all chests / wand. This run does not have commentary because it is essentially a truncated version of the 100% run so the same commentary applies. |
Gold | 00:06:00 | No | The most optimized of the runs, this takes a zero frills approach to the run, doing only what is absolutely necessary to make the run happen. Note: The introduction contains my old name, I've since shifted to GrayGooGlitch (as evidenced in the submission name) |

Note: The introduction references my previous name, I currently run under the name GrayGooGlitch. |

Neutral (Glitched) | 1:25:00 | No | We will follow Clover's adventures through the Neutral route of the game, make new friends, betray some other, skip some major parts of the game with amazing and super visual glitches, catJAM a lot on the amazing music and hopefully have a great time filled with Determination (and the power of Justice). We will skip all dialogues and text boxes using the Automasher Mod created by the UTY Speedrun Community. |

Any% 1.0.7 | 00:50:00 | No | Any%. You know it, you love it, and it has you expecting me to beat the game as quickly as possible by any means necessary. Metroidvanias are notorious for skips, interesting routing, fast combat, and are generally a great genre for speedruns and this one is no exception. In this run, we fight through seven bosses, collect six different movement abilities, and explore eight different biomes before facing off with the final boss in somewhere around 48 minutes. We are playing on a slightly older patch of the game, but you'll find out why by watching my submission. For fans of glitchless/NMG, be excited as this current routing has none. Just well earned and fast gameplay. |

Escape Qotech (Normal, Invincible Hack Off, no FIFE) | 00:44:00 | Yes | Escape QoTech is a entry-level category for Yars Rising, comprised of the first two acts, out of five, of the game. The run also ends on a classic metroidvania escape sequence, though it does not have an on-screen timer counting down to your death, sadly. Invincible Hack Off makes hacking minigames as dangerous as the main game. FIFE is a major glitch, not used in the run. Race submission with cutefangies. |

any% | 00:10:00 | No | ...in practice, this run sees us delivering no parcels, phasing through villagers, and falling through the world to skip basically the whole game! It's a goofy mess, and despite the many glitches, it's remarkably marathon safe. Highlights include getting to the main village and immediately careening out of bounds, followed by fighting a final boss we can't even see. Who knows: maybe I'll even hit some nice shots! |

15 Card Mod (No RNG Manipulation) | 2:55:00 | No | The goal is to get to the end as quickly as possible - Instead of winning just 1 card for defeating your opponents, you win 15 and significantly reduce the farming required to beat the game. Even with this, the game will make sure that it does everything it can to stop you from finishing the run and dueling Nitemare, the final boss in one of the most brutal gauntlets in gaming! |
All Duelists (15 Card Mod) | 3:05:00 | No | Every duelist must be defeated! Each victory still earns you 15 cards instead of only 1. More duels means more opportunities for getting cards you would almost never see in the usual 15 Card Route. This also means more card game music to bob your head to! (It's really good.) |
